Week 1: What is diabetes/prediabetes & how do carbs fit in?

In this module, we’re going to discuss the tools and strategies you can use to prevent blood sugar spikes which may result in unwanted weight gain.
First, we’ll explain what Prediabetes/diabetes is, how we can fit in foods you LOVE, why carbohydrates are not the enemy, and how carbohydrates can stabilize blood sugar and may actually help you manage your weight.

Week 2: Let’s get cooking!
In this module, you’ll watch Dr. Chester’s “Let’s get cooking!” Video. She’ll be in the kitchen cooking her favorite lunch and give you options for making a meal that’s great for stabilizing blood sugar. We’ll discuss how to fit in the carbs you love and balance your food groups.

Week 3: What are Macros?
Zoom or in person group call.
In this module, we’ll discuss how to balance our meals to include carbohydrates, fats and protein. You will fully understand what each macronutrient does in the human body, which will take the confusion out of knowing what (and how much) you should be eating.

Week 4: Dining out & figuring it out
In this week’s video, Dr. Chester will discuss How to find healthy meal choices when dining out, ANYWHERE!
We’ll take a look at some of our favorite restaurants and how we can make a meal out with friends and family work for your blood sugar

Week 5: beyond the meal! Exercise, sleep and stress!
Zoom group call
In this module, we’ll discuss how sleep impacts your weight and food choices. You’ll be given practical steps to improve your sleep, incorporate exercise and more!
